Can implantation bleeding be like a regular flow?

I seem to have started my period a week early. I have read that implantation bleeding occurs 6-12 days after ovulation. I would have ovulated 8 days ago if my calendar is correct. I stopped my birth control at the end of April and have had 2 periods come right when I expected them, although they have been rather light. Then last night I had some pinkish discharge (I shouldn't start until the 26th), and nothing overnight. Then this morning I woke up after a nap, and I was bleeding like a regular flow, but it was rather dark red.

My question is if anyone knows of implantation bleeding being like a normal flow, or is my period just really early?

Implantation bleeding is not like a normal flow, but you can experience bleeding like a normal flow during the first trimester. 1 in 4 women experience this. Sometimes bleeding can continue throughout the first trimester. You just have to wait for the pregnancy test.

From personal experience, I got pregnant on May 5th 2006 (I know this because of the circumstances and I know when I OV) I got pregnant and had no idea because about 10days later I got a light period. It was about 3 days long and enough each day to fill about 2 tampons. I chalked it up to being a reg AF but..I started having pregnancy symptoms after that. I finall broke down and took a test about a week or so after this bleeding and it came up +++ Went in for an ultrasound that put me at about 4 weeks since conception.(3 weeks later I miscarried due to B vitamin Defficiency) So yes, it can be heavier than just spotting. I just had the exact same thing happen to me. A week before my period was supposed to start, same light bleeding (a little lighter this time actually) with all kinds of symptoms. I am waiting til tomorrow morning to test (my AF was actually due today) So we'll see what happens! Best of luck to you and lots of baby dust!

I had a regular period when I was pregnant for my son! I had my period 1 time each month came on time and for 7 days just normal. I was pregnant and when I found out I was 4 months along almost! Most of the time women do not have their periods. But you could be the type that you do. I would go to the docs first!

implantation bleed is no like a normal flow. it is very little, mostly brown, usually see it only after you wipe when using the bathroom, or a few spots in your underwear not even enough for a pad or tampon.
