Question:
Mirena Removal Side Effects?

I had a Mirena IUD/IUC (whatever you want to call the darn thing) for close to five years and just had it removed on the 15th of this month (so about a week and a half ago). When I first had it inserted, I had the expected cramps and spotting and started into nausea issues which have been under control with medication.

After getting it removed, I'm having bouts of severe nausea, fever/hot to the touch body, headaches, and body aches. I have done some searches and seen some vague references to some of these being common after removal, but not a whole lot more info than that.

Has anyone else had this? How long do you think this will take to go away? Don't suggest "call your OB/Gyn"..I can do that if I must, but he didn't fully seem to believe it triggered my nausea initially and, well, he hasn't had one personally. ;) I'm 95% sure I'm NOT pregnant (have taken a home test just to be safe when it first happened), but I suppose there's always a very slim chance.

Thanks!

The most concerning symptom to me is the fever. No doctor would suggest that was all in your head, so get yourself to a doctor, girl - doesn't have to be your OB if you feel he doesn't trust you. The concern is that you could have picked up some kind of infection from having it removed and if that's the case, it really should be looked at right away.

Good luck!
