I am wondering if this has happened to anyone?! I took 2 generic pregnancy tests yesterday and they both had a faint line in the positive spot on the test. Indicating that I could be pregnant. Then I bought 2 different other brands and took one of each last night and then took one of each this morning and they were all negative. I still don't have period symptoms and haven't gotten it yet. I was due to yesterday. I am just wondering if anyone has had this with a faint line pregnant and then negatives - and were you actually pregnant?? Thanks! :)

Was the positive generic test a Target brand by any chance? This happened to me just last month- an unquestionable positive line- I was ecstatic. I took 3 others over the next several days and the rest were negative. I asked a similar question to yours on here and someone mentioned frequent false positives/ bold evap lines on Target Brand tests. I looked up their reviews on Target.com and was floored by the number of women complaining about false positives.

Indeed, I was NOT pregnant. (We're trying again this month) I really hope that this is not your same situation. Best of luck to you. xoxo

Hi there,I had this with my first pregnancy.I did two tests after I was a week late and these both said that I was pregnant, and the lines were extremely faint.I didn't feel pregnant and had no other signs other than a missed period.I then did another two tests from another brand and they both said it was negative.I decided to visit my doctor and have a test done with them and that confirmed that I was pregnant. My doctor told me that the first few weeks of pregnancy can lead to your hormones being all over the place and can give you false readings. If I were you go to the doctors and this will help to put your mind at rest,if your anything like me you'll keep thinking about it and at least this way you'll know.Good luck and I hope its the answer you want

No I have not but I think that if it's a positive, even if it's faint, it's a positive ++++++ Now, the only thing I can think of that might make results faulty if it was a test from the dollar store. But generic tests that are not past expiration date should work just as well. Plus, youve not gotten your period, those are two very good signs in your favor: HPT + and no AF !!!!! Best of luck!!!!!!!

This has happened to me before. The first test was the first morning urine. It said boldly that I was pregnant. So I went and got 4 more test and they all tested negative. I called my mother in law who is a Physicians Assistant and she said that my body was probably producing alot of hormones that morning and they tricked the test. When I took the test I was 2 weeks late. Several days later I started. If you are still in doubt go to your doctor!!!

false positives are rare so i would say your pregnant and its just early. Wait a few more days and then retest with 1st morning urine. Go to the doctors if you like but inless they give you a blood test there tests are normally less sensitive. Different tests are more or less sensitive
