hi im waiting to go on the ivf list but i have to loose weight first i have been put on metformin tablets which have helped me become regular but i need to know what the steps are...i was told
1) clomid tablets 2) die injected in my fallopian tube 3) injections for 5 weeks 4) freeze my partners sperm 6) using a catheter to take my eggs out whilst injection sperm into them and the insert them back in once the embryo has multiplied7) rest for 2 weeks no heavy liftin and then go back for preg test 2 weeks later
can some one who has been through this tell me if this is true ?...and was it pain full?and did the first time work??

Well this is only my experience of the IVF that I had (UK) after I'd already taken Clomid and they didn't work.

- You administer injections daily to stimulate egg production

- You have regular scans at the clinic/hospital and they will let you know when you are ready for egg collection

- Egg collection normally takes about half an hour and normally under heavy sedation so you are asleep and don't re-call anything. Partner also gives sperm sample on same day

- You then wait for the phone call to let you know if any eggs have become embryo's

- Embryo's normally put back whilst awake (takes about 10-15 minutes), normally 2-3 days following egg collection

- Then the 2 week wait begins and yes that includes no heavy lifting but gentle exercise such as walking is encouraged

- Pregnancy test is normally 14 days following implantation of embryo

I've had 2 fresh cycles and 1 frozen cycle but unfortunately IVF didn't work for me. It wasn't painful in the physical sense (as long as you don't have a needle phobia) but emotionally its very hard. I can't offer advice re weight loss sorry.

Good luck on your journey x

i only have one fallopian tube due 2 a etopic pregnancy years ago, they done the die through my tube and it was damaged so i went with my husband till he got tested (sperm) to make sure we were ok to go on the waiting list for ivf everything was fine so on the list we went.................................

about 2 years later we finally got an appointment to go and start my ivf that was a year ago it takes time,

at last i started my metformin then my injections which were for about a week then went and got my eggs out which i can even remember as i was really sleepy with the drip, after my tummy was sore for 2 days just crampy nothing bad, they took 16 eggs out i phoned the next day and 15 had fertilized which was really good, 2 days later i went back and had them placed back in which was not pain full at all and was over quickly,

then there comes the 2 weeks wait which am doing just now.... its horrible they tell you to try and carry on as normal but its hard i have only 2 more days to go then al fine out if its worked or not

am scared incase it has not worked i will be sad but thinking positive

good luck i hope everything goes ok for you xx xx

does my head in whilst human beings such as you are able to desire to conflict to get investment, yet some wierdo who thinks shes a guy in a womans physique can get a intercourse exchange off the nhs. your ultimate guess is to attend and see, combating smoking could benefit you weight so your ultimate to stop smoking then focus on the load loss plan, attempt the wellness middle cos that isn't in basic terms assist you to decrease weight yet will additionally boost your wellness point.as for the injections , my missus had them , they arent that undesirable plus it'l be nicely worth it interior the tip. wait and see yet dont attempt assume too lots then at some point you'll be pleasently shocked. sturdy luck chuck
