It showed positive so the next day went to the wic clinic and took another it was also positive. i called the hospital and asked them about the pregnancy test they had given me they said it was negative?? is there anyway the blood pregnancy test would show a negative and then 9 days later a urine test show up positive?? please help

well its the 9 days that went by between tests that changes everything.

hcg,the preg hormone, doubles every 48 hours. you may have been too early to detect even by blood at the time of the test at the hospital. if yu are testing + by urine, you can bet you are testing + by blood now. but you werent then.

get another beta hcg blood test done to confirm. good luck and congratulations.

Normally a blood test is more accurate. However, I work in an ER, and we do not normally do blood pg tests. Are you sure they didn't just dip your urine when you were at the hospital, because that would make sense to have a neg pg test or even a false neg, then to have a positive. It could mean it was just to early to show up 9 days prior. I would probably check one more time at the dr's office or something, third times a charm right? Good Luck!!

go to a different doctor, go in for a pelvic exam, because when i was pregnant I found out I was 4 weeks posotive pregnancy test at home, had first doc aptmt at 6 weeks along, and was due for a pap smeare so he did one and confirmed my pregnancy by doing one and feeling my belly to see where the uterus was at that time, then two weeks later I had a ultrasound and seen my son, I was pregnant for 15 weeks and 2 days at 13 weeks my son died in womb and my body wouldnt let him go naturally so they induced me into labor...that was not fun...it was tragic....your belly wont feel too different til you hit 16 weeks a long or farther you need to keep taking tests and posotive tests are very rarely FALSE. Negatives are very common and you couldve gotten deffective tests, but if you are still not bleeding then chances are you are pregnant, and period like cramps are normal in early pregnancy. tender breasts is an early symptom as well, if you start spotting or heavy bleeding extreme pain on your left or right side get to the er it could be an ectopic pregnancy and if youd be 7 weeks you wouldve noticed by now if it was ectopic...your belly wont start showing until at least 14 weeks for even a little showing..every woman is different...but you need to get to a doctor again and tell them..you know your body and you had a posotive test...their the same tests they do with urine at the doc, ur hcg levels probably arent high enough yet to notice the pregnancy in your urine, tell them to check ur hcg levels.

I'm having some trouble getting a positive hpt and someone told me that they got a negative blood test, then two days later the same doctor did another one and got a positive one. It just depends on your hcg production. Congrats!

yes it can, not all blood tests show that your pregnant, it might have been to early when they did the blood test, it is something they don't tell you, you might be pregnant, I suggest that you go back to your doctor and ask for another test, to prove that you are pregnant, good luck and hope you get the answer you want.

maybe when they took ur blood it wasn't for a pregnancy test maybe they was running test on something else.the urine test they took maybe showed a negative because it was too soon.
