I have a VERY stubborn mum. I currently have a king single bed and its too hard. I am always tired and i also, get a very sore back in my bed and after sleeping in it. My dad has agreed to get me one but first, i need mum to say yes. the problem is, as soon as i say " mum" or anything she goes no!! shut up about it! she doesnt care. dont get me wrong, shes a great mum, but she wont listen when i want something or need smething. I will not just get a new mattress. The one me and my aunty found was $348, bed and matress on sale at sydneys, its very comfortable and my aunty thinks i should get it. I have more than $100 saved up. Probably around $200. Any ideas ??? No long term ones as i have a sore back and dont want to sleep in it! Couch and doonas arent an option.

Are you planning to try to conceive in this bed? Maybe that's why mum is saying "No!" ...?

:) Not sure why you posted this under "trying to conceive" but I think you maybe read it as "trying to convince" ? Hmm...

At any rate... I think if dad has already said yes... and mum won't listen... Just have dad take you out with your $200 and let him pay the rest. I think it's very responsible for you to offer to pay more than half... Is your birthday coming up soon by chance? Maybe you could spin it that buying you the bed will be like an early birthday gift?

Anyway, best of luck!

Okay, first off why can't you just get a new mattress? You may find out you're unhappier with a smaller bed. Second off, wait till your mom isn't busy and is in a good mood, then in ask here why she thinks you shouldn't get a new bed (don't whine). She might have a good reason. Now if it ends up you still want a new bed, $348 is a very good price if it also inculdes the frame. If not check your phone book for local used furniture shops for a frame, they usually have very nice ones pretty cheap, most of them also have brand new mattresses and box springs at a very good deal (sometimes people buy them and change there minds without ever using them). Good luck!

Well dear, not sure how old you are, but If you can work now is a good time to learn the value of a dollar. Maybe your mom cant afford to buy it for you. Its hard to think unless you have lived it but life is expensive. Try looking for beds that are on sale somewhere and keep saving up. A stiff bed is annoying but wont kill you. In the mean time try getting a fitted pillow top for your mattress. Trust me they make a world of a difference!!!

Not sure where you live, but IKEA have really cheap functional bed frames. A rubber/foam shop have cheap mattresses too.

good luck
