My husband and I are TTC #1 for about 8 months now. When we first got married I got a UTI and the doctor said it was because I should have washed down there. So after we bed I always wash down there but only after I lay on the bed for about 10 minutes. Is this affecting my chances to get pregnant negatively?

To prevent UTI's, always urinate after sex.

I lay in bed with my hips elevated for 15-20 minutes, and then I go to the bathroom. There is no need to wash down there after you have sex. Just make sure you pee. Peeing flushes out bacteria.

Actually, if you wash TOO much, you can create too much bacteria distruption down there and cause UTI's. Just use mild soap and water when you shower and you're done!

Possibly. Do it every day, and put your feet up, and after a couple of months if you are not pregnant, you both need to go see the doctor. They will start with checking him out.

Go pee after to prevent uti.

Unless you are washing high inside your vagina ie douching (which won't prevent uti) , it's not going to do much for conception.

maybe you should try to wait a few more mins before getting up to wash yourself. Washing yourself should not affect the sperm is you are waiting 10 mins before getting up to do so.
