It is not at all true. Don't believe that. What matters if you have boy or girl!

You should not give much credence to such folk beliefs.Because these are half truths(?) only. No theory is without number of other coefficients. These may be time of day/night, your face is towards/ away from husband during the act, whether you are lying north-south/east-west during the act, if you are on top of your husband or he is on you, what nakshatra/ grih dasha are present on that time, if the winds are easterly or westerly and many similar known and unknown factors. The detailed and correct mystery about these folk theories had long been lost and what we hear today are the distorted versions with lots of self impregnated masaalas in them. Although I do no advocate this yet you appears to be quite keen to have a son you can give it a try. You can ask for 'Meethi Goli' from Ayurved pharmacy, Rajpur road, Dehradun; dosage is prescribed on the information leaflet.Inform about the result I am doing some study.Good luck.

Yes. Shukla Paksha (Waxing Moon) for boy, Krishna Paksha (Waning Moon) for girl.

As far as I know, that is false. The sex of the baby is determined by which sperm fertilizes the egg (either said sperm has the X or Y chromosome.) Not by a calendar. Sorry.
