So, my period was due today. In the last 5 days I have probably taken at least 4 tests. All negative. Well this morning I took one and showed my husband. I was pretty sure it was negative and so was he. Sooo. I was like hey watch this, I told him about evaporation lines and how they show up when the test drys too fast by removing the strip, So I took the strip out and set it down, almost right away a BLUE line showed up, i was kinda shocked as I was expecting the grey colourless evap line....Now I am totaly confused, and my husband thinks I am crazy.....All of this testing, and taking apart happened in about a 10 min., time period. Was that a postive or Evap Line.?

When you get up tomorrow use first morning's urine to take a new test. Don't mess with, wait for the control line to show up and see if it's positive. If it isn't I would wait to test again until about a week has went by without your period. Just follow the instructions. You should always immediately throw the test in the dumpster if it's negative because those things can totally mess with your emotions and give you false hope. I hope you are pregnant if you want to be, and even if the test was negative there is still a small chance you could be but your HCG levels aren't high enough to be detected yet. It took me four years to concieve my first child and I've been trying a year for number 2. I know how frustrating those tests are. If I were you, I'd follow my instructions so you don't have to go through a huge let down if you aren't pregnant. I hope it turns out the way you want.

Removing the strip from the cartridge after peeing on it which allows it to dry faster invalidates the test.

36. Should I take my test apart to see the line(s) more clearly? No. Removing the test from its plastic case changes the test's exposure to air and humidity. Air and humidity affect the manner and rate at which the dye and chemicals cross the test. If you change the environment before the test is finished, you risk drying it out too quickly-- and when a test dries too quickly, the dye may dry in places it would not have otherwise-- making an evap line appear to be a positive result. Additionally, the tests are intended to be used and read while intact. If you think you see a line, but it is so faint you really can't tell, it's probably an evap line and should be considered negative.

Please note: pregnancy tests will work almost anywhere-- the problem is not the amount of air or humidity in general, but changing it in the middle. HPT's are scientific little things, and to achieve greatest accuracy, the environment should not be changed while the test is running.

If you want to photograph or scan your test for posterity (or for posting to your message board buddies for opinions ;) it can be easier when removed from its plastic casing (to eliminate glare.) If your test is positive, go for it! If it's negative, or you're not sure, you're in a tough spot . . . removing the test from its casing while the test is still wet can "speed-dry" an evap line and make it darker/harder to interpret. But tests are not completely dry at the 10-minute time limit; by the time they dry, the test has passed the 10-minute limit and should not be read. If you think you'll be in conundrum, use a dip-style test or remove the test from its casing before you apply urine.

An evap line doesn't happen like that. I would think you are pregnant. Go get a First Response and test right now. You don't have to wait until the morning, just hold your urine as long as possible before testing.

It's possible you are pregnant. You were only due for your period today, so you've been testing a little early for accurate results, anyway. Try taking another test first thing tomorrow & don't take the test apart. ;o) You may get happy news!

Best wishes and baby dust to you!

nicely if all those tests got here out detrimental final month, then you certainly weren't pregnant. yet once you have had unprotected intercourse because of the fact your final era then you certainly must be pregnant. Take a HPT whilst your is due. solid success:)

It could be a positive. To be certain, I would buy the digital ept that gives the result "pregnant" or "not pregnant." I used this after getting faint positive lines on the other hpts.

Best wishes!
